Brana Records exists to restore and publish rare recordings by neglected artists and recordings of newly discovered masterpieces.
Our current focus is the life and work of the Polish / Brazilian pianist Felicja Blumental who overcame prejudice to scale the heights of her chosen profession. A champion of the piano music of the early 19th Century outside that of the regular repertory, she recorded works by lesser known composers such as Arensky, Clementi, Czerny, Kuhlau, Hoffmeister, Hummel and Ries, as well as acclaimed recordings of Mozart, Beethoven and Chopin.
It is these wonderful recordings that we are restoring and releasing to create a lasting record of this wonderfully talented pianist.
